oktober 14, 2016   Reacties uitgeschakeld voor Vampire Diaries: Ripper Stefan, Miss Mystic Falls returning for final season   The Vampire Diaries

Julie Plec heeft in een interview laten weten dat enkele Mystic Falls tradities ect. weer te zien zullen zijn in het laatste seizoen van de serie.

With season 8 being The Vampire Diaries’ last, showrunner Julie Plec has spoken about her desire to bring some things back, whether that’s in the form of old characters or old themes. For example, the title of every season 8 episode will be a line of dialogue from season 1. (The premiere is titled “Hello, Brother.”)

Furthermore, Plec revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that the writers are trying to bring decade dances back into the fold. Key word: trying. “We’ve pitched and abandoned nine different decade dance episodes,” Plec says. “We haven’t quite found the one we like yet.”

However, Plec did reveal a few other Mystic Falls events that will make their return. “We have the carnival that was in the top of season 2, which is a really big episode for us when Caroline first became a vampire. [That] makes a reappearance,” Plec says, adding, “Founder’s Day will make a reappearance and Miss Mystic Falls will make a reappearance, so there’s a lot of those great season 1 events that we’re able to revisit in small ways.”

Along with things fans have seen before, Plec also plans to use the final season to explore some things that fans haven’t seen, but rather, only heard about. And considering Stefan and Damon have been alive for more than 100 years, there’s a lot for the writers to work with. “This season is all about finally telling the stories that we’ve talked about over the years but have never seen,” Plec says. “In fact, we’re shooting [a flashback] right now. And this one in particular is the time where Stefan was known as the Ripper of Monterey, so we’ll get a little glimpse of that world, which we’re all very excited about.”

The Vampire Diaries returns Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
