an Somerhalder was killed off of Lost a mere 19 episodes into the show’s first season. Luckily, he found work in the afterlife: playing not-so-nice vampire Damon Salvatore on the CW smash hit The Vampire Diaries, which is now in its second season. Somerhalder, who grew up near New Orleans — “with that whole Anne Rice feel,” he says — has long been a fan of vampire stories, but he loves playing one even more. “It’s a trip to see the reaction of people when I’m in makeup,” he says. “People are scared of me!”
Scared may not be the word. Possessing a jaw as chiseled as a puzzle piece and crystal clear blue eyes, Somerhalder’s Damon was recently named the sexiest “beast” in an Entertainment Weekly poll, besting 63 other werewolves, aliens, mutants and vampires (including one Edward Cullen) for the title.
BEING DEAD NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD.

Actrice Micheala McManus heeft een gastrol gescoort in TVD. Ze zal Jules gaan spelen, een vriendin van Mason Lockwood die hem op komt zoeken in Mystic Falls.
Day by day, we learn more and more about this character. E! Online‘s Kristin told us about her in the first place. Then, we found out she came to town to investigate Mason’s disappearance. Now, thanks to Michael Ausiello (via Vampire Diaries Online), we also know who will play Jules and it’s “One Tree Hill”‘s Michaela McManus. Her previous credits include “Law & Order: SVU” as well. The actress will make her debut in a December episode (probably 11) of the season. Read an excerpt from Ausiello’s article below and visit Movieline for the rest.
The actress will play Jules, a friend of Mason Lockwood’s who comes to Mystic Falls looking for the MIA werebeast (little does she know he got his heart ripped out by Damon two weeks ago).

In de komende afleveringen zullen we meer te weten komen over Katherine’s verleden! Zo verteld bedenker Jullie Plec aan TVGuide.
What turned The Vampire Diaries’ Katherine Pierce (aka Katerina Petrova) into a cold-blooded killer? Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine/Katerina) says we’ll find out on the November 11 episode when the action flashes back to 1490s Bulgaria.
“We find out how she became a vampire and what led her to become the person she is today — a selfish, maniacal woman who only looks out for herself,” says Nina, who was born in Bulgaria and speaks Katherine’s native tongue. How she’s turned is a big secret, as is the identity of a new menace we’ll meet from the same era, who will journey to present-day Mystic Falls.
“This villain has ties to the deep, deep past of the vampire legend,” teases executive producer Julie Plec. “And then in our last episode before the holidays [December 9], we’ll finally see poor Tyler Lockwood’s torturous transformation into a werewolf.”
Even before season 2 began, producers of The Vampire Diaries were talking about Michael Trevino’s beefed up role as a werewolf. So SPOILER-THAT-ISN’T-ACTUALLY-A-SPOILER: Last night, in episode 7, Tyler Lockwood finally (accidentally) killed someone and activated the family curse. (Read our recap.) Shortly after the episode aired on the East Coast (which Trevino watched while flipping back and forth from the World Series), he phoned EW to talk about what’s next for young Mr. Lockwood, which scene he’s yet to shoot that’s making him nervous, and why episode 210 is already one of his favorites.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Watching this episode, I was like, finally! We’ve known it was coming for so long, and now it’s on. Did you have a bit of that reaction to?
MICHAEL TREVINO: Yeah. It’s official now. It’s just a hint of it. It’s at the point where the next few episodes are going to be about preparing for the next full moon that comes. You’re gonna see Tyler do more research, because now he realizes he’s not going to be able to stop himself — it’s just inevitable.Read More »
