  • ‘Invincible’ vernieuwd met 2 seizoen door Amazon

De animiatieserie van Amazon waarin Melise een stem vertolkt is door de steamingsdienst vernieuwd met een tweede en derde seizoen.

Ahead of its anticipated Season 1 finale on Friday, Amazon Studios has renewed Robert Kirkman’s Invincible for two more seasons. Seasons 2 and 3 of the adult animated series will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“I’m extremely thankful to Amazon for the support and dedication they’ve put behind Invincible,” said Kirkman. “The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that Cory [Walker] and I grew up reading and loving, and it’s been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series. We’re beyond excited to continue this story for at least two more seasons.”

Based on the Skybound/Image comic by Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an hourlong, animated superhero show that revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy might not be as heroic as it seems.

The voice cast also includes Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Zachary Quinto, Mahershala Ali, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin, Khary Payton, among others.

Invincible is Kirkman’s second-longest-running comic book series, wrapping in February 2018 after a 15-year run.

The series is produced by Skybound and executive produced by Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert (The Walking Dead), Catherine Winder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) with supervising director Jeff Allen (Avengers Assemble) and Linda Lamontagne serving as casting director.

“Invincible is a crowning example of how a fresh and edgy approach to the superhero genre can resonate with audiences around the globe and we’re so glad that Invincible, one of our earliest investments in the adult animation genre, has accomplished just that,” said Vernon Sanders, Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios. “Robert’s no-holds-barred storytelling coupled with a first-class voice cast delivered on fans’ wildest expectations and we’re thrilled to be giving them more Invincible.”

  • Daniel’s scheiding is definitief afgerond

Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniel Gillies have finalized their divorce, PEOPLE can confirm.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, a Los Angeles judge signed off on the actors’ divorce on March 10, nearly two years after the couple split in June 2019.

Per the documents, the She’s All That star, 41, and the Vampire Diaries alum, 45, will share legal and physical custody of their two children: daughter Charlotte, 7, and son Theodore, 5. They will also share equal custody and costs of their two dogs and two cats.

Neither star will receive spousal support, the documents state.

The exes also finalized their property agreements: Cook will keep ownership of their home in Redondo Beach, California and retain a 2020 Audi and her personal items, while Gillies will keep his 2019 BMW, the title and interest associated with Lovesfool Productions, Inc. and his personal items, according to the documents.

Cook and Gillies will share profits of their $1.9 million family home in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles that they are selling.

Cook and Gillies announced their separation after 15 years of marriage in a joint statement in June 2019. Gillies filed for divorce in July 2020.

“With deep gratitude for every year we have spent together and the thousands of beautiful memories shared, we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” began the statement, which was shared to their respective Instagram accounts.

“This decision isn’t one we have come to easily or lightly. We love and respect each other as parents, people and artists and look forward to maintaining the best parts of our relationship for many years to come,” the statement added.

In August, Cook told Entertainment Tonight that while her and Gillies’ decision to split was “really hard,” the exes are “friends now” as they co-parent their two children.

When Younger arrives on Paramount+ for its final season next month, two key characters will be spending less time in Liza’s orbit.

The first four episodes of Season 7 will hit the streaming service on Thursday, April 15, with the remaining episodes scheduled to drop weekly on Thursdays, Paramount+ announced today. (Update: These episodes will also be available on Hulu, following the same schedule.) The entire seventh season will also air on TV Land later this year.

But TVLine has learned exclusively that previous regulars Miriam Shor (Diana Trout) and Charles Michael Davis (Zane Anders) will only appear in a recurring capacity.

“Due to scheduling and Covid related matters, Miriam Shor and Charles Michael Davis were unable to be season seven cast regulars,” series creator Darren Star tells TVLine in a statement. “However, they will always be a much loved and integral part of the Younger family and have added so much heart and soul to the series.”

Shor has been a regular since Younger premiered on TV Land in 2015, while Davis was promoted in 2018 after recurring in Season 4. The show’s sixth season finale witnessed Diana’s wedding to Enzo, a romantic event that also brought Zane closer to Kelsey.

“In the final season, Liza’s personal life is on shaky ground as she tries to stay true to herself,” according to the official logline. “After a setback at work, Kelsey doubts her career decisions and discovers a new creative outlet. Maggie gets cancelled.”

  • ‘Legacies’ vernieuwd voor seizoen 4

‘Legacies’ is met 11 andere series vernieuwd voor een nieuw seizoen.

The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted will stay open for the 2021-22 television season. The CW has renewed the Legacies TV show for a fourth year.

The Legacies TV show stars Danielle Rose Russell, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, Quincy Fouse, Aria Shahghasemi, Peyton Alex Smith, Chris Lee, Leo Howard, Ben Levin, with Matthew Davis. A spin-off of The Originals (which is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries), this show is set in the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted in Mystic Falls, a haven for supernatural beings to learn to control their impulses and abilities. The ongoing story follows a new generation of supernatural students (like vampires, witches, and werewolves) as they learn what it means to be special in a society that wouldn’t understand their gifts. They include Hope (Russell), Lizzie (Boyd) Josie (Bryant), MG (Fouse), Rafael (Smith), Kaleb (Lee), and Landon (Shahghasemi). In season three, Hope has risked everything to pull her friends back from the brink of a monstrous prophecy that threatened to doom them all. But when a heartbreaking loss shatters her whole world, she’s forced to fight fate itself.

The third season of Legacies averages a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 700,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 26% in the demo and down by 8% in viewership. As live+same day ratings keep dropping for most network shows, The CW continues to focus on streaming and other revenue sources.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” said Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO, The CW Network.

The CW also renewed 11 other TV shows today — All American (season four), Batwoman (season three), Charmed (season four), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (season seven), Dynasty (season five), The Flash (season eight), In the Dark (season four), Nancy Drew (season three), Riverdale (season six), Roswell, New Mexico (season four), and Walker (season two).

  • Kat benoemd tot UN Goodwill Ambassador

Actor, singer and longtime supporter of the United Nations Refugee Agency Kat Graham has been named a Goodwill Ambassador in the world. She is just one of five Americans to have received the title.

Variety caught up the “Vampire Diaries” actor, who recently starred in Netflix’s “Operation Christmas Drop,” to talk about her work with the UN.

How does this position influence the work you’re hoping to continue?

My grandfather was a UN ambassador. And it’s a rare opportunity to be appointed UNHCR ambassador — I’m the fifth in the United States to be appointed. There are a lot of people that work hard within the UNHCR so to be recognized for my efforts, my passion for this agency, is a profound moment for me. I’m still processing it because it’s been probably my greatest dream.

Given the multiple crises facing the world, what priorities do you see UNHCR taking on?
UNHCR takes on so much. All of the work that they’re doing to not just raise awareness, but to rush staff and supplies to the border in Ethiopia in the Tigray region for refugees that are fleeing for safety into Sudan, even in the midst of this pandemic.

They do so much in raising awareness, not just of the plight of refugees but also the voice of refugees because a lot of people think that refugees are victims or have so many misconceptions. For me, it’s important that I stand also within their messaging.

People have criticized those with privilege for not taking more action. What do you hope to see fellow Hollywood figures do to help make the world better?
We all have our soul work. I really can’t speak on to what another celebrity does with their time because a lot of people do things in private. I don’t judge or want to spend the time knocking somebody down for what they might or might not do publicly or at all.

For me, it hits a little bit harder, because it’s literally in my blood. I’m the granddaughter of refugees, and I now have an opportunity to fight for them. I have made it my mission to not take the fact that I exist for granted, to not take the fact that I’m a celebrity for granted.

What advice would you give to people who want to make a difference?
Find the thing that you connect with directly. I think that if people can even donate in somebody’s name, that would be the greatest gift. I do believe the biggest gift we can all give ourselves in 2020 is the gift of awareness: the awareness of systematic racism, of our health workers, the awareness that we are in one of the worst refugee crises that we’ve had in a decade, that this is not a political issue, this is a human rights issue.

When will we be seeing “The Vampire Diaries” reunion or reboot?
I am truly grateful that I was on a show that blanketed across the world. I went to countries where I couldn’t believe anyone knew who I was. That to me is so humbling and lovely. One of the greatest things about the show ending is that I now actually am able to travel and to go to these countries, and to look people in the eye and hold their hands and see what they need. The chapter of my new position as a Goodwill Ambassador has arrived, and I will not sacrifice that time for anything.
