TVD vernieuwd voor seizoen 5!
The CW heeft bekend gemaakt dat The Vampire Diaries in in de herfst zal terugkeren op de zender voor een vijfde seizoen! Supernatural en Arrow zijn enkele andere series die ook vernieuwd zijn voor komende periode.
The first wave of The CW’s early pickups are in, and — naturally — The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for a Season 5.
Arrow and Supernatural will also return for more seasons. Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, said in a statement, “We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that.”
According to the press release,TVD is The CW’s highest rated series in target demographics, including adults 18-34 and women 18-34. Digitally and socially, the show is one of the network’s top-ranked as well.
Now, all The CW has to do is make The Originals spin-off into a done deal, and we’ll be all set!

Danielle Campbell gecast in ‘The Originals’
‘Prison Break’ actrice Danielle Campbell is gecast in de TVD aflevering van de mogelijk spin-off serie ‘The Originals’. Ze zal de rol van heks Davina op zich nemen!
Danielle Campbell will play Davina, a young witch, in the April episode of the CW series.
Prison Break actress Danielle Campbell has been tapped to join the CW’s back-door pilot The Originals, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Originals revolves around Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, where he is reunited with his diabolical former protege MarcelCampbell, who also costarred in the feature Prom, will play Davina, a young and troubled witch who has been sheltered by protective caregivers. Her innocence about the way the world works makes her equal parts wondrous and dangerous. She’s delicate and ethereal but not without her own demons.
She joins Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin, who will reprise their roles as Original vampires Elijah and Hayley, respectively, and Daniella Pineda, who will play a witch named Sophie.
The pilot will air April 25 as an episode of The Vampire Diaries. Showrunner Julie Plec will pen the script for Warner Bros. Television. -

Daniella Pineda gecast in ‘The Originals’ Pilot
Actrice Daniella Pineda heeft een rol gescoort in de TVD aflevering die gezien kan worden als de pilot aflevering van de spinoff serie ‘The Originals’!
Daniella Pineda will soon be heading to New Orleans.
The actress, who has guest-starred on Homeland and Men of a Certain Age, has landed a series regular role on The Originals, the wildly hyped Vampire Diaries spinoff whose backdoor pilot airs April 25.According to Deadline sources, Pineda will portray Sophie, a witch who is intent on leading a revolution among her kind because her powers have been silences for far too long.
The series, which will almost certainly be picked up by The CW for the fall season, centers on Joseph Morgan’s Klaus returning to his native New Orleans and reuniting with his evil protege, an uncast vampire named Marcel.
