Stefan (Paul Wesley) lets Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) know that Katherine’s health has taken a turn for the worse, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) discuss some of Katherine’s most notorious moments. Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) comes up with a frightening plan to protect her mother, and Stefan and Elena are forced to help her. Meanwhile, Caroline is mortified when she realizes she forgot to fill Elena in on the latest shocking gossip, then indulges in a little scandalous behavior of her own. Finally, Elena and Katherine share an unexpected moment of connection.

DAMON’S PAST RETURNS TO HAUNT HIM — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) realizes Elena (Nina Dobrev) is in danger and enlists Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) help to find her. The brothers pay a visit to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos), and Damon shocks Stefan by revealing his first-hand knowledge of Aaron’s family. In an attempt to stop Damon, Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) unleashes his secret weapon, forcing Damon to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever, as well as the consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge. Meanwhile, Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes’ confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal. Finally, a frantic Katherine (Nina Dobrev) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help, until she realizes that Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) may be the one who can solve her problem. Joseph Morgan de volgende crossover
Volgens TVGuide.com zal Joseph Morgan binnenkort te zien zijn in een aflevering van ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Dit zal de tweede zo genoemde crossover zijn tussen de series.
Klaus Mikaelson is returning to Mystic Falls, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
The Originals’ Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will cross over onto The Vampire Diaries for the first time since he exited the series in the Season 4 finale. As part of his goodbye — and in one of our favorite scenes of all time! — Klaus told Caroline (Candice Accola) that her boyfriend Tyler (Michael Trevino) was free to return to Mystic Falls. He then added, “He’s your first love. I intend to be your last.”
Well now that Tyler and Caroline have pretty much called it quits, has Klaus returned for another go at getting Caroline to give in to his love? The timing of Klaus’ return could coincide with The Vampire Diaries upcoming 100th episode, which will air in early 2014. Reps for CW and Warner Bros. TV had no comment.

Before the season began, Morgan said he was thrilled with the momentary ending between the two characters, but wasn’t sure it was permanent. “[There was] a responsibility for the fans who were rooting for Klaus and Caroline to at least give them some sort of resolve,” Morgan told us. “That’s not saying it’s the end of that because there’s the potential of crossovers.”
When we last talked to Accola, she wasn’t overly confident about the two ever getting together. “Klaus is a bit of a bad word for Caroline,” she said. “It’s a little out of sight out of mind — but he’s still there.”

After trying to make amends with Caroline, Elena (Nina Dobrev) grows so concerned about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) that she turns to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos) for help. Later, when Damon tells Elena about a terrible ordeal in his past that he has kept secret for decades, she shares the disturbing information she just learned about her own family. Finally, Aaron decides on a desperate course of action after a conversation with Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett).
