The CW heeft de datums bekend gemaakt waarop de seizoensfinales zijn van hun series. Hierbij is opmerkelijk dat de seizoenen van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ en ‘The Originals’ niet gelijk met elkaar eindigen. De laatste aflevering van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ seizoen 7 is op 13 mei, die van ‘The Originals’ seizoen 3 is een week later op 20 mei.
Wat de reden hiervoor is, is niet bekend gemaakt.
Candice is terug van zwangerschapsverlof en is weer bezig met de resterende opnames voor het zevende seizoen van ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Eerder liet Julie Plec al weten dat ze hierdoor is 4 of 5 afleveringen niet te zien zou zijn.
Het plot voor aflevering 7×16 Alone With Everybody van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is verschenen.
In an attempt to make things right with his brother, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) offers to have Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) scar magically transferred to him, only to discover that doing so may come with some unexpected consequences. With time running out and Rayna (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff) closing in on Stefan, Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) desperately attempts to reason with Damon before it’s too late. Elsewhere, after being framed for breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora (guest star Scarlett Byrne) forces him to make an upsetting discovery. Zach Roerig also stars.

Het plot voor aflevering 7×15 I Would For You van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is verschenen! Dit is de crossover aflevering met ‘The Originals’.
While Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) search for a magical herb that can keep him hidden from Rayna (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) comes up with his own plan to take her down for good. However, while at The Armory, Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes a shocking discovery about Rayna that brings Damon’s plan to a screeching halt. Elsewhere, a conversation with Caroline (Candice King) leaves Stefan questioning their future together, while Matt (Zach Roerig) decides it may be time to truly take a stand against the vampires of Mystic Falls. Finally, as the season’s middle chapter draws to a close, Damon’s desire to take himself out of the game ramps up as he races to complete unfinished business with Stefan and Bonnie. Michael Malarkey and Matt Davis also star.

In order to lure a vengeful vampire hunter named Rayna Cruz (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff) away from his friends in Mystic Falls, Stefan (Paul Wesley) heads to New Orleans, where Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) has learned of a safe house that can protect him. Once there, he comes face to face with Klaus Mikaelson (guest star Joseph Morgan), who soon becomes suspicious of his old friend’s unexpected arrival in his city. Meanwhile, Enzo (Michael Malarkey), who is working on behalf of a mysterious organization called The Armory, approaches Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) with a plan that could protect Stefan from Rayna. Finally, after learning that Alaric (Matt Davis) has decided to leave for Dallas with the twins immediately, Caroline (Candice King) offers to accompany them on the trip and finds herself contemplating her own future in Mystic Falls. Zach Roerig also stars.

However, when Damon’s actions inadvertently put everyone he loves in Rayna’s path, he is forced to make things right before it’s too late. Kat Graham and Matt Davis also star.
Er is aan Julie Plec gevraagd of we Elena nog dit seizoen zullen zien in TVD. Hierop antwoordde ze dat ze hoopt van niet, aangezien de planning is om haar aan het einde van de serie nog terug te brengen om haar verhaallijn af te ronden.

Ausiello: Not if we’re lucky, Ashley. According to executive producer Julie Plec, the hope is still to bring Nina Dobrev’s character back for the end of the series, so “unless something catastrophic happens” (Plec’s words) and this ends up becoming the final season, don’t expect to see Ms. Gilbert in 2016. “I basically committed to Ian [Somerhalder] and Paul [Wesley] that when they’re ready to be done, I’ll be done,” she adds. “They could be ready very soon, or they could really want to stick it out. Right now, that’s up to them. I’m with them as long as I feel like I can keep telling stories for them.” That said, “there is still a chapter of [Elena’s] story left to be told,” so Plec says she’ll “take [Dobrev] for whatever she’s willing to do to tell that story.”
