THE FEAST OF THE BLESSINGS — Genevieve (guest star Elyse Levesque) asks Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to allow her coven to publicly celebrate a traditional feast day, where members of the community offer the witches gifts in return for blessings. Monique (guest star Yasmine Al Bustami)) and Genevieve disagree over what the ancestors want from them, and Genevieve reveals her plan to build the witches power. When Elijah focuses his attention on restoring their home to its former glory, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) accuses him of doing it only to impress Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). Next, Klaus sets a new plan in motion by finding Cary (guest star Jesse Boyd), a werewolf from his own line, and sending him off to find a missing piece of family history. Marcel lets Thierry (guest star Callard Harris) in on his new plan to rebuild his power, but Diego (guest star Eka Darville) has his own ideas about the future. At the Feast of the Blessings, Monique and Genevieve try to use the ceremony to teach Davina (Danielle Campbell) a lesson, but Klaus intervenes and gives Davina a surprisingly important gift. While Hayley struggles to decide where her loyalties should lie, the ceremony explodes into violence. Leah Pipes also stars.

Claire Holt Sets The Record Straight About Her Exit From “The Originals”
In an exclusive interview with BuzzFeed, Holt confirms it was her decision to leave The CW’s vampire drama. Additionally, executive producer Julie Plec reveals how The Originals will proceed without Rebekah Mikaelson.On March 11, BuzzFeed reported that Claire Holt had chosen to leave The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, after her 16-episode contract was up. At the time, Holt and creator Julie Plec chose not to comment, but now, Holt and Plec are breaking their silence, speaking exclusively to BuzzFeed, in order to squash inaccurate reports.
“It’s ludicrous,” Holt stated of rumors the writers had run out of ideas for her character and forced her out of the show. “I want to be very clear that they didn’t run out of material, I wasn’t pushed out, I wasn’t fed up with Rebekah, I didn’t quit mid-season, there was no drama, there was no rift between cast members; it really came down to the fact that I completed my initial commitment and made a life choice not a career choice.”
Holt’s decision to leave, which she said solely stemmed from a desire to be back in Los Angeles, CA with her loved ones, did not come easily. “This show has been so amazing for my career, and I’ve had such unbelievable material, it was just never my intention to be away from home this long,” she said of the atypical route that brought her to The Originals, which began as a three-episode guest role on Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, but quickly evolved into so much more.
“It was a tough choice that I didn’t fully make it right up until the end because I was enjoying myself so much. But three seasons later, I realized I hadn’t been home to Australia in years, I hadn’t seen my family, and I hadn’t spent time with the people I loved. But I want to make it so clear that this show has such a special place in my heart. I am so glad I was able to do The Originals, and I want to be a part of that family for a long time. I am simply looking at this as a temporary absence.”

Het is bekende geworden dat Claire Holt stopt als vaste castlid bij ‘The Originals’. Dit besluit zou zij volgens bronnen zelf genomen hebben en nooit van plan zijn geweest om de rol van Rebekah zo lang te spelen. The March 11 episode of The Originals ended with Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt) driving off into the distance after being set free by her brother, Klaus (Joseph Morgan). But unlike she has in the past, this time Rebekah won’t make a U-turn and head back into the chaos of New Orleans; this was the last fans will see of the character for the near future.
BuzzFeed has confirmed that Episode 16, the aptly titled “Farewell to Storyville,” was Holt’s final installment as a series regular. According to sources close to production, it was entirely the actress’s decision to leave The Originals, but everyone involved with the freshman series hopes she might return for future guest appearances.
This revelation will undoubtedly come as a shock to fans since Rebekah is effectively the female lead of The Originals, and has been deeply interwoven into the show’s complex mythology. In expanding upon Holt’s character, who was a villainess for much of her time on The Vampire Diaries, The Originals had her forge a deep bond with werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and revealed her Romeo and Juliet-esque history with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), a vampire sired by Klaus centuries earlier.
Holt’s character was first introduced on The Vampire Diaries in 2011, and her initial three-episode Season 3 guest arc turned into much, much more. Eventually, the entire Mikaelson family — which, in addition to Klaus, also includes eldest brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) — got its own series, The Originals, which began airing in September 2013. A source close to Holt told BuzzFeed that the actress never intended to play Rebekah for as long as she did.

Moreover, Callie is just as brilliant of an actress; taking into account how she’s still at the start of her film and television career, it’s amazing that she’s already booked so many great roles! Along with her highly anticipated Originals gig, this little lady stars as Sharon Blackwell in “11 Seconds”, Hanna James in the TV movie “Anna Nicole,” and young Karen Wheaton in “It’s Supernatural.”
Just like the other pint-sized Mikaelsons, she will be making her official debut in a significant flashback scene in “Farewell to Storyville.” Will it be the one in which Elijah reveals a shocking secret about their family? Perhaps, but one thing’s for sure: the trio’s childhood vignettes will be memorable and oh-so-endearing, especially when contrasted with the show’s constant slew of supernatural battles and bloodshed.
Overall, we’re excited to see Callie in action as the feisty little Viking. Considering how we recently found out that Rebekah is Mikael’s favorite child and that she was also quite sneaky for such a small tyke (basically, she did naughty things and blamed them on Klaus like any younger sibling would), we’re intrigued to see her as an itty bitty girl.

Laatste aflevering van seizoen
The CW heeft bekend gemaakt wanneer de laatste aflevering van het eerste en vijfde seizoen van ‘The Originals’ en ‘The Vampire Diaries’ te zien zal zijn op de zender. ‘The Originals’ laatste aflevering zal zijn op 13 mei, die van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ op 15 mei. Hierna zal de serie voor enkele maanden op hiatus gaan, waarin de cast vakantie heeft, aan andere projecten zal werken en zal starten met de opnames van het volgend seizoen.
Hoogstwaarschijnlijk zullen beide series rond september/oktober 2014 dan weer te zien zijn op TV.
