http//: Mark Elzey (Instyle)The Vampire Diaries and Star Trek actor is ready to leave Mystic Falls behind (for good) and travel to Strange New Worlds.
As much as the world may want to dwell on the vampirification of the 2010s (cue: “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo currently on repeat), Paul Wesley is ready to leave bloodsuckers in the past. Wesley’s portrayal of the sometimes-bad, more-often good Stefan Salvatore (one-half of the devilishly handsome, blood-thirsty brother duo in the CW’s The Vampire Diaries) earned him a spot among some of the greats like Dracula, Edward Cullen, Carmilla, Angel, etc. But let’s just get this out in the open right now: a Vampire Diaries reboot is a “hard pass” for Wesley. In fact, any project having to do with vampires is out of the question — unless, of course, Martin Scorsese calls with an offer.
“I would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries,” Wesley tells InStyle. Sorry to break any (undead) hearts here, but as much as it may hurt to hear, moving on from the teen fantasy romance genre feels like the only logical next step for a star who spent years portraying young supernatural beings. Luckily, the actor is still putting some of his sci-fi background to use in Paramount+’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, in which he stars as a young James Tiberius Kirk. The show’s highly anticipated second season is currently streaming.
Before his days in the world of fantasy, Wesley’s foray into acting happened during his junior year of high school, when he was cast in the popular soap opera Guiding Light. Shortly thereafter, Wesley began scoring more gigs throughout the early 2000s on shows like The Education of Max Bickford, The O.C., Smallville, and Law & Order. In 2001, Wesley was ironically cast in a CBS show called Wolf Lake, which followed a teenage pack of werewolves.
“You’re shooting 60 pages or something a day,” Wesley said of his early days on Guiding Light. “I didn’t really understand the camera, I didn’t understand memorizing lines. Over those years as a young actor, I kind-of trained myself by being on a soap opera. And it was better than working at McDonald’s, like all my friends.”

In gesprek met Joseph Morgan
Josehp heeft een interview en fotoshoot gehad met Numeró Netherlands.

http//: 2023: Taylor Miller (Numeró – Netherlands)Joseph Morgan is best known for his starring role as Klaus Mikaelson on the enormously popular series ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and its spin-off ‘The Originals’. He can currently be seen in the fourth and final season of the Max/Netflix DC Comics series ‘Titans’ and will next star in the highly anticipated return of season 2 of Paramount+’s original series ‘Halo’. Aside from his work in front of the camera, Joseph has also established himself as a credible talent behind the scenes with the release of his audiobook ‘The Boy and the Beast’ earlier this year and a handful of projects in development.
Joseph, you’ll be staring in the return of second season of Paramount+’s series ‘Halo’, based on the popular Xbox video game franchise. What can you tease about the upcoming second season?
The new showrunner David Wiener has given ‘Halo’ Season 2 a much grittier aesthetic and stuck much closer to the canon with the storylines. The show feels more intricate in its subtext, more character driven, with high level political power games being played out and of course, plenty of incredible action sequences.
In the series, you’ll play James Ackerson, a formidable intelligence operative who has spent his career climbing the ranks of the UNSC’s secretive Office of Naval Intelligence. Tell us more about your character, who we’ll get to meet in this second season.
Ackerson means business. He’s there to shake things up and he won’t let anyone get in his way. He’s a master manipulator. One minute you’ll think he’s your best friend, the next he’ll crush everything you believe in. He truly wants to do what is right for humanity, but he understands that comes with a cost. The greater good is not always the most popular ideology. We’ll also be delving into his personal life and peeling back the layers of pressure he’s under on a daily basis.

Paul Wesley Brings Captain Kirk Down to Earth
Paul heeft een interview en fotoshoot gehad met Esquire Magazine ter promotie van Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

http//: Tyler Joe (Esquire)Captain Kirk is wearing a black hoodie and jeans. In the third episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season Two, James T. Kirk trades his gold Starfleet uniform for some 21st-century threads (thanks to some time travel shenanigans), and, in doing so, becomes an everyman. As played by Paul Wesley, this version of Kirk isn’t a larger-than-life hero; instead, he feels like someone you know. Or, better yet, someone you might aspire to be like. “He’s a classic,” Wesley tells Esquire. “I feel like Kirk would like classic clothing. He’s like jeans, leather jackets, boots, hoodies, white t-shirts, black t-shirts, boom, done. I never want to wear things that will go out of style.”
Although the idea of James Kirk might conjure up images of William Shatner fighting a rubber lizard in slow-motion, or, perhaps the wise-cracking Chris Pine, the character of Kirk is far more relatable and real than his reputation suggests. “If you actually watch The Original Series, yes, there’s some exaggerated stuff there, but for the most part, Kirk is pretty down-to-earth,” Wesley explains. “He’s not like the caricature people think of, or as big as people have made him out to be in their heads over the years.”
Perhaps most well-known for his role as immortal Stefan on The Vampire Diaries, Wesley is the opposite of a caricature. He’s a thoughtful, relatable guy, more apt to ask a question about you than talk about himself. He’s charming and he’s got swagger, but he’s also subtle and kind. In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season Two, Wesley appears as James T. Kirk in a few surprising episodes, beginning with the third story, “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.” It’s a cracking time travel romp, which sends a version of Kirk and series regular La’an (Christina Chong) back to 21st-century Toronto. In the vein of classic Trek time travel, Paul Wesley gets to play Kirk as a fish out of water, and in doing so, makes him more realistic and more interesting than any version of Kirk we’ve seen before.
For most viewers, Strange New Worlds is a back-to-basics version of Star Trek; each episode is mostly self-contained, and even the complicated sci-fi plotting feels secondary to characters and emotions. And in this way, Wesley’s version of Jim Kirk is a microcosm of the entire series. He is Kirk, sometimes from a different timeline, sometimes found just a few years before taking over the Enterprise, but don’t worry about it too much. He’s the guy you trust, because he believes in people when no one else will, and he’ll always do the right thing, even if nobody notices or remembers. In Strange New Worlds, Wesley doesn’t reinvent the character of Captain Kirk, but instead, does something that feels radical: his performance reminds us that all of us could be Kirk if we wanted to be. Kirk isn’t a legend—he’s just a guy. A very competent and cool guy, but someone you’d want to hang out with all the same. In real life, Wesley is very much the same. His enthusiasm for life and his interest in art and music is infectious. He’s a man of action, and a Renaissance man, too. But, ultimately, Wesley feels like the guy who would loan you his hoodie and never ask for it back.
Esquire caught up with Paul Wesley to discuss playing Captain Kirk in Strange New Worlds, making whiskey, and how to know when you’ve really grown up. Spoilers ahead for Strange New Worlds Season 2, Episode 3.
