Magazine (Ben Cope)The combination of beauty, intelligence and talent is rare to find in the modern silver screen siren, but Claire Holt has a hearty helping of all three while still maintaining stars in her eyes and a passion for her craft. Mostly known as the impetuous blonde vampire Rebekah in The Originals, Holt has taken the courageous step away from her familiar character to explore new roles in bold new projects set to air this month. But don’t worry; Rebecca is still very much a part of the dynamic trio, as we have seen her appear for a guest role in this recent season finale. “I came back for the finale and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. It was really nice to sort of come full circle. I really love playing Rebecca. She’s really special to me. I hope to continue to do her along with my other projects. Any time that the three Originals are together, myself, Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, there’s some sort of chemistry that happens that I think is really special, albeit dysfunctional. We love to shoot scenes together and I think those are some of my favourite moments.

Malese voor NKD magazine
Malese Jow heeft een interview en fotoshoot gehad voor NKD magazine. Tijdens het interview had ze het o.a. over haar TVD personage Anna!
On playing Anna on TVD: “The fan response to the writers and me were like, ‘What’s happening?’ Petitions, everything it was just crazy. I think the writers heard the outcry and even the crew was upset. They decided to write me back in for season three and close things up a little better. It was an interesting experience booking it, but it turned into something that I wasn’t even expecting. I thought I was going to be on the show for two to four episodes. It turned out being a part of two seasons and being a vampire when that whole thing was popular, so that was very special.”
On making future music: “Music is always a constant thing for me; I’m always writing. I’m getting better at guitar and booking shows. That’s always something that’s in the works and I can’t wait for it to be a solid thing and I can release music, so keep your eye out.”
On her character on The Flash: “Linda is fun. She’s a strong women, which is good to see on TV. She’s secure in her skin; she doesn’t beat around the bush with anything. If she wants something she’s clear about it. She’s a career women, and it’s great to portray her. I hope she keeps doing the thang. I love how strong she is. I love how she doesn’t really worry herself with peoples opinions and all the petty drama that’s going on around her. I just hope that she stays that way and doesn’t become too soft or too persuaded by things that shouldn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.”

What is the potential for another crossover between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries?
It’s an interesting question, because we’ve done two so far. With Tyler coming over seeking revenge and we did one with Tatia, which was Nina [Dobrev] coming. There’s a lot of people wanting to see Caroline crossing over to New Orleans to visit Klaus, because of that sort of unresolved romance that happened back in Vampire Diaries.I’m sure they will use another crossover because why wouldn’t they? It’s a wonderful opportunity. It might be nice to see another character that I don’t have a history with. I like Michael Malarkey, who plays Enzo on Vampire Diaries. I’d love him to cross over just ’cause I’d get to spend more time with him then, he’s a good bloke.
What can we expect with the dynamic between Elijah and Hayley, with the baby in play?
It’s going to be more and more difficult, although there’s definitely some feelings between them, as we saw in the episode that aired just before Christmas. They still definitely have feelings for each other, but she’s now betrothed to Jackson. She’s gonna marry for the good of her pack so that they could absorb these powers that she has and have a strong line of defense for her daughter, for our daughter. It’s going to be a forbidden love between them. That’s the most interesting kind, isn’t it?Do you think we’ll get to expect Claire Holt‘s character, Rebekah, back?
I hope so, because I really am fond of Claire. I’d love it if we do. I should imagine so. I spoke to her very recently. I know she is up for coming back, and we’re up for having her!
