Phoebe Tonkin gecast in ‘Take Down’
Phoebe Tonkin is gecast in een nieuwe film genaamd ‘Take Down’. De opnames van de film beginnen in april.
Jeremy Sumpter, Phoebe Tonkin and Sebastian Koch are in talks to star in director Jim Gillespie’s thriller “Take Down,” with shooting starting in April.
Mimi Steinbauer’s Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales on the project at Berlin.
Producers are Ed Elbert, Sarah Ryan Black and Stefan Brunner. The movie is being packaged and produced by Pinewood Pictures, an affiliate of Pinewood Shepperton Plc.
Alexander Ignon (“Ransom”) wrote the story, centered on the spoiled offspring of international billionaires being sent to a tough-love school in the remote wilderness. When they are taken hostage and held for a $1 billion ransom, the kids are forced to try to save themselves.
Sumpter’s credits include “Peter Pan” and “Soul Surfer.” Tonkin has appeared on “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” and Koch starred in “The Lives of Other.”
Gillespie directed “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Sumpter is represented by Innovative Artists. Tonkin is repped by ICM Partners as well as Management 360. Koch is repped by Travistock Wood Management and Die Agenten. -

Paul in film ‘Sam & Amira’
Paul Wesley zal te zien zijn in de film ‘Sam & Amira’, de opnames van de film zijn al afgerond. Over de release is nog niets bekend.
“Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley, “Party Down” alum Martin Starr and Dina Shihabi have wrapped production on writer-director Sean Mullin’s feature film “Sam & Amira.”
Starr stars as Army veteran Sam, who falls into an unlikely love affair with an Iraqi immigrant named Amira (Shihabi).
Wesley co-stars as Sam’s cousin who works on Wall St. and takes Sam under his wing to help win over new clients.Strongman’s Terry Leonard produced with Matt Miller and Erich Lochner of Vanishing Angle. Executive producers include James Ponsoldt (“The Spectacular Now”) and Meg Montagnino-Jarrett.
“Sam & Amira” marks Mullin’s feature film debut after a string of award-winning shorts.
No release date has been scheduled, as post-production is just beginning.
Project is notable in that it serves as a dramatic showcase for Starr, who is best known for his comedic turns on Starz’s “Party Down” and NBC’s “Freaks and Geeks,” as well as Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up.”

Ian werkt aan documantaire ‘Year of Living Dangerously’
Ian gaat meewerken aan de documentaire ‘Year of Living Dangerously’ , deze zal gaan over de opwarming van de aarde. Andere sterren die meewerken aan het project zijn James Cameron, Jerry Weintraub, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Damon,Michael C. Hall, Don Cheadle & America Ferrera.

Paul gecast in ‘Curfew’
Paul is gecast in de film ‘Curfew’. Afgelopen februari won een kortere versie van de film een oscar en nu wordt er een volledige film van gemaakt.
Paul Wesley has been cast in the feature film adaptation of the Oscar-winning short film Curfew!
The Vampire Diaries star joins Emmy Rossum and Ron Perlman, and the film will be directed by Shawn Christensen.
“thnx for the support of our little movie. for those asking, i have a supporting role,” Paul tweeted.
Curfew tells the story of a man who is at the lowest point of his life when he receives a call from his estranged sister asking him to look after his young niece Sophia for a few hours.
Production is set to kick off this summer in New York City. Congrats, Paul!

Sara gecast in ‘Eadweard Muybridge’
Sara Canning is gecast in de nieuwe film ‘Eadweard Muybridge’. Een film over een fotograaf Eadweard Muybridge uit de 19e eeuw die beroemd werd om zijn werk van bewegende fotografie en de uitvinding van de zoopraxiscoop. Sara’s zal de vrouw van de fotograaf gaan spelen.
Vampire Diaries actress Sara Canning, Ian Tracey and Jodi Balfour have joined the cast of the untitled psychological drama centered on Eadweard Muybridge.
Michael Eklund is starring in the Canadian indie, which is being directed by Kyle Rideout and produced by Josh Epstein. Rideout and Epstein were behind Wait for Rain, a short which won best science fiction/fantasy at last year’s Comic-Con International Film Festival. The Muybridge project is their first feature.
Also joining the cast are Christopher Heyerdahl and Torrance Combs. The movie begins principal photography next week in Vancouver.Muybridge was a world-famous 19th-century photographer who took pictures of nude and deformed subjects, found fame with his landscape shots and pioneered motion photography by capturing animals and humans in action and let the way for motion pictures with his zoopraxiscope device. His personal life also was noteworthy: He killed his wife’s lover and received a justifiable homicide verdict.
Canning will play Muybridge’s wife while Balfour will be one of the photographer’s models who became the focus of some of this very first nudes.
Tracey will portray the founder of Stanford University who enlists Muybridge’s services to win a famous bet, over whether a horse had all four hooves off the ground while galloping.
Canning stars in Primeval: New World, the North American version of the hit BBC sci-fi show.
Tracey has appeared in the popular Canadian sci-fi show Continuum and appeared in Man of Steel and A&E’s Bates Motel.
Balfour is one of the stars of CBC’s acclaimed show Bomb Girls. -
