  • X-Men: Dark Phoenix Casts Summer Fontana As Young Jean Grey

    Summer Fontana is gecast in de nieuwe X-Men film als de jongeren Jean Grey.

    It looks like Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix has added a new face to its cast, and The Originals star Summer Fontana has nabbed herself the lucrative role of playing a young Jean Grey.

    We already know that Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner will reprise her part as a teenage Grey from last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse. However, with Fox casting an even younger version of the X-Men stalwart, it looks like Kinberg’s ’90s adventure will be going back in time even further. The director had already cited his interest in finding a flashback actress of Jean Grey, and it looks like 8-year-old Fontana is that lucky girl. Appearing in short film Basic Witches, the young actress is best-known as Hope Michaelson in Season 4 of The CW’s The Originals.

  • Nate gecast in nieuwe film ‘Saving Zoe’

    Nathaniel Buzolic looks absolutely nothing like himself! The former Originals star shared a first look at his character for Saving Zoe on his Instagram Stories.

    Nate shared that he’s joined the film alongside sister duo Laura and Vanessa Marano. Chris Tavarez, who you might recognize from Avalon High and K.C. Undercover, and Giorgia Whigham have also joined the pic. Laura and Vanessa, who are producing with mom Ellen, are filming the flick in Augusta, Georgia.

    Saving Zoe centers on “sisters, Echo and Zoe, a year after Zoe’s murder.

    Now, Echo is still reeling from the aftermath — her parents are numb, her friends are moving on, and the awkward start to her freshman year proves she’ll never live up to her sister’s memory. Until Zoë’s former boyfriend Marc shows up with her diary.”

  • Zach promoot ‘The Year Of Spectacular Men’

    Zach is later dit jaar te zien in de nieuwe film ‘The Year Of Spectacular Men’, deze ging afgelopen week in premiere op het LA Film Festival.

    In the year after graduating college, Izzy struggles to navigate the seemingly incessant failures of adulthood, the reality of a substandard dating pool and a debilitating fear of top-sheets, all in between X-Files marathons. Comically unsuccessful in love over the course the year, including five half-hearted relationships with astoundingly self-centered men, Izzy resigns herself to the support of her mother and sister, who are struggling with their own relationship problems. Seeing herself in them, Izzy gradually gains the confidence to be honest and vulnerable.

    In a charming feature debut, established comedic actor Lea Thompson directs her real-life daughters Madelyn and Zoey Deutch, creating a palpable sense of intimacy in this story of connectedness and familial love.

  • Kat gecast in Netflix thriller ‘How It Ends’

    Kat Graham is gecast in de nieuwe Netflix thriller ‘How It Ends’, opnames beginnen in juli in Winnipeg (Canada).

    Kat Graham has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming action thriller “How It Ends,” also starring Forest Whitaker and Theo James.

    The film follows James as Will, a young man desperate to get home to his pregnant wife Samantha (Graham) after an apocalyptic event turns roads to mayhem. Forest Whitaker plays Tom, Samantha’s domineering father. Samantha, a loving wife, encourages Will to stand up to Tom, not realizing that later on they’ll have to work together to find her.

    Graham is best known for her role as Bonnie Bennett in The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” and has also acted in “17 Again,” “The Roommate” with Leighton Meester, and “Honey 2.” She recently played Jada Pinkett in the Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez on Me.”

    Graham also has a burgeoning singing career, with a new album “Love Music Funk Magic,” co-produced with Babyface. The lead single “Sometimes” is currently at #16 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart.

    “How It Ends” is directed by David M. Rosenthal from a script by Brooks McLaren. The project is being produced by Paul Schiff, Tai Duncan, Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall, with executive production from Sierra’s Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg. Sierra/Affinity developed the project with Paul Schiff Productions and is handling worldwide sales and financing.

    Netflix acquired worldwide rights in January. Production begins in July in Winnipeg.

  • Film over leven van rapper Tupac klopt niet volgens Jada Pinkett Smith

    Jada Pinkett Smith zegt dat veel scènes in de nieuwe Tupac-film All Eyez On Me niet kloppen. In een serie tweets laat de actrice, een goede vriendin van de in 1996 doodgeschoten rapper, weten dat ze geen fan is van de film.

    “Vergeef me…”, twittert Pinkett Smith. “Mijn relatie met Pac is me te veel waard om de scènes in All Eyez On Me voor waar te houden.”

    Zo leest Tupac Shakur in de film bijvoorbeeld een gedicht voor aan Pinkett Smith (een rol van Kat Graham), iets wat volgens haar in werkelijkheid nooit is gebeurd. “Ik wist pas dat dat gedicht bestond toen ik het las in zijn boek.”

    Ze schrijft dat de film nog meer onwaarheden bevat: zo zou Tupac haar nooit gedag hebben gezegd toen hij naar Los Angeles vertrok en deed hij dit ook niet om zijn carrière te bespoedigen. “Ik ben ook nooit op zijn verzoek naar zijn shows geweest en we hadden nooit ruzie backstage.”

    Ze noemt de interpretatie van haar relatie met de artiest, die vrijdag 46 jaar zou zijn geworden ‘erg pijnlijk’. Toch is het volgens Pinkett Smith niet de schuld van de acteurs. Ze prijst hen juist dat ze het goed gedaan hebben met wat hen werd gegeven. “Jullie leggen jullie hart en ziel in jullie rol. Bedankt daarvoor.”

    All Eyez On Me draait vanaf donderdag in de Nederlandse bioscopen. De film vertelt het verhaal van rapper Tupac Shakur, een van de succesvolste muzikanten ooit. Gedurende zijn carrière verkocht hij meer dan tachtig miljoen albums.

  • ‘The Originals’ Star Tapped to Play Robert Durst in Lifetime Movie

    Daniel is gecast in de rol van Robert Durst in een nieuwe film ‘The Lost Wife of Robert Durst’ van de zender Lifetime, wat gebaseerd in op een waargebeurd verhaald uit de jaren 80

    The Originals star Daniel Gillies will play the real estate heir and suspected killer in the cable network’s upcoming movie, The Lost Wife of Robert Durst, with Katharine McPhee set to play Durst’s first wife, Kathie, who disappeared in 1982.

    Based on investigative journalist Matt Birkbeck’s book A Deadly Secret: The Strange Disappearance of Kathie Durst, the movie focuses on the young and wide-eyed Kathie (McPhee), who weds the charming yet quirky real estate scion Robert Durst (Gillies) only to find their marriage becoming stranger, darker and more disturbing with time. The film dives deep into the world of Robert Durst and explores what may have happened between him and Kathie.

    Lifetime has been working on a potential Durst movie since last summer when it optioned another one of Birkbeck’s books, A Deadly Secret: The Bizarre and Chilling Story of Robert Durst, a year after Durst was the subject of the acclaimed 2015 HBO docuseries The Jinx.

    That series, which featured a rare interview with Durst, looked into not only the disappearance of Kathie but also the unsolved 2000 murder of Durst’s friend Susan Berman and the 2001 death of Durst’s neighbor in Texas, Morris Black.

    Emmy winner Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) will direct from a script penned by Bettina Gilois (Bessie). Lincoln Square Productions’ Linda Berman (Madoff) and Rudy Bednar (Final Witness) will exec produce. Filming begins this month in Vancouver.

    Gillies follows in the footsteps of Ryan Gosling, who portrayed a Durst-like character in the 2009 film All Good Things, with Kirsten Dunst in the role seemingly inspired by Kathie. In addition to his starring role on The Originals, Gillies’ other credits include Saving Hope and The Vampire Diaries.

    McPhee, who is currently starring on CBS’ Scorpion, is also known for her roles in The House Bunny and Smash.

  • Danielle gecast in comedie ‘You Can Choose Your Family,’

    Danielle Campbell, who starred as Davina Claire for four seasons on CW’s The Originals, has joined first-time feature director Miranda Bailey’s comedy You Can Choose Your Family, from Imagine Entertainment and Cold Iron Pictures. The film, which is currently in production in New York, stars Jim Gaffigan along with Anna Gunn, Samantha Mathis, Alex Karpovsky and Logan Miller.

    The pic follows 17-year-old Philip (Miller) who, while on spring break, learns his overly protective father Frank (Gaffigan) is living a double life. Campbell plays Allison, a high school beauty and “It” girl of her senior class.

    Glen Lakin wrote the screenplay, which was further developed by Bailey. Imagine’s Karen Kehela Sherwood and Cold Iron’s Amanda Marshall are producing with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer serving as exec producers.

    Campbell, whose film credits include Race To Win and Madea’s Witness Protection, is repped by Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty and Primary Wave Entertainment.
