Candice King en Micheal Trevino hadden vorige maand een mini ‘TVD’ reünie toen ze allebei op de trouwerij waren van een gezamenlijke vriend :) Candice was daarnaast ook bruidsmeisje..
De eerste foto’s die ik op social media heb gevonden van de BloodyNightCon Europe Conventie afgelopen weekend in Brussel staan in de galerij. Hierbij waren Matthew Davis, Charles Micheal Davis, Kat Graham, Michael Malarkey, Nate Buzolic, Riley Voelkel en Daniel Gillies bij aanwezig.

Michael heeft zijn eerste project gescoort nadat hij gestopt is met ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Hij zal te zien zijn in een theatherproductie van Sherlock Holmes waarin hij de rol van Dr. Watson zal vertolken. De eeerste optreden zal zijn in Los Angeles, waarna de productie doorreist naar Canada en enkele andere Amerikaanse steden. Micheal was eerder al gecast in de nieuwe pilot-serie ‘Kingmakers’ die helaas niet is opgepakt door een tv-zender.
If you’re already thinking about how much you’ll miss Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood on The Vampire Diaries, we’ve got good news for you. The 30-year-old actor has booked his first post-Mystic Falls gig and it’ll have him stepping away from television and onto a stage.
The Toronto Star reports Michael has signed on for a stage production of Sherlock Holmes, playing the detective’s right-hand man, Dr. Watson. He’ll appear alongside Scream vet David Arquette who stars as the titular Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character, which he took over for How to Train Your Dragon’s Jay Baruchel.
We’re definitely feeling this new project for Michael — although we think he’s perfect for Showtime’s Penny Dreadful — thanks to how epic this play sounds.
“The steampunk costumes and brilliant set design, featuring projections on metal scrims, give the production a distinct modern edge, yet all the while, it remains quintessentially Sherlock Holmes,” producer Corey Ross told the publication. “It’s both timeless and contemporary, and audiences will enjoy the way it slyly hints at current events and today’s political culture.”
Sherlock Holmes will have six preview performances in Los Angeles before opening at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre from October 27 to November 8. The show will then go on tour, making stops in Washington, D.C. and Chicago.
We first learned Michael would be leaving The Vampire Diaries in April when co-creator Julie Plec confirmed the news on the heels of us learning he’d been cast in a potential ABC pilot titled Kingmakers which was ultimately not picked up. The TVD writers left the door open for Tyler to return to Mystic Falls and we certainly hope that happens soon!
The Vampire Diaries Season 7 premieres Thursday, October 8, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Volgens de laatste berichten ziet de zender ABC af van de nieuwe pilotserie ‘The Kingmakers’ waarin o.a. Michael Trevino, Kendrick Sampson (Jesse, TVD S5) en Colin Woodell (Aiden, TO) in te zien zouden zijn. De serie zou over het volgende gaan:

Nina heeft in een offciëel bericht laten weten ‘The Vampire Diaries’ te verlaten na seizoen 6, het paasweekend was niet om vakantie te vieren maar een afscheidsfeest. Zo laat ze weten de rol van Elena en haar andere personages 6 jaar lang met plezier te hebben gespeeld, maar wist altijd al dat ze de rol maar 6 jaar wilde spelen. Nina kijkt uit naar een nieuw hoofdstuk in haar leven.
Dearest TVD Family,
I’ve just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn’t just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party. I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I’ll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever.
There’s more to come before we wrap this up, and I promise you’ll get to hear all about my experiences over the next month as we approach the season finale (I have given an exclusive interview for the June issue of SELF Magazine that I am excited for you to see!), but until then I invite you to hop on the roller coaster ride that is Elena Gilbert’s life and join me as I celebrate her and prepare to say goodbye to her — and to my work family — as I move on to the next chapter of my life. After six-plus years together, the entire cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries has reached a level of closeness that I don’t think any of us ever expected. Nina is excited to spread her wings, get some rest, travel the world and also take it by storm, and we support her a thousand-fold. We will miss Nina and the four hundred characters she played, but we look forward to the insane and exciting challenge of continuing to tell stories of our Salvatore Brothers and our much-loved and gifted ensemble.
Michael has been a beloved member of The Vampire Diaries family since day one. Even though he’s also going to be out in the world exploring new opportunities, we look forward to finding creative ways to make sure he and his character Tyler Lockwood always remain a part of the show.”
Ik vind het persoonlijk jammer dat zowel Michael en Nina de serie zullen verlaten en ben benieuwd hoe de serie zich verder ontwikkeld nu de één van de drie hoofdpersonages waarom de serie draait, Elena er niet meer zal zijn :(

Jacob Darlow has just transferred from Oxford to Braddock, an elite Ivy League University. He starts to ingratiate himself with the privileged students, professors, and alumni. Jacob has ambitions to become a member of Braddock’s secret society, Skull and Key.
Jacob strikes up a friendship with fellow rower and student, Max Walden. Max is definitely in the inner circle. His father, alumnus Adam Walden, is a Senator and considering a run for President. Max’s mother is Helen, the perfect politician’s wife.
A member of Skull and Key, and someone Jacob should get close to, is Vivian Vandemeer. Her father, Simon Vandemeer, is the Dean at Braddock and her mother, Maeve, a professor. Maeve used to date Senator Walden back in the day.
Vivian’s fellow student and lover, Taylor Collins, is an assistant to the Dean. The two keep their affair secret, like so many things on this campus.
Before Jacob came to Braddock, there was a murder of a freshman, scholarship student named Julia. The investigation into her death lead to Professor Radha Mittal (Parminder Nagra) who believes she was set up by Skull and Key to take the fall. Before being taken into custody, Radha contacted Julia’s brother, Eli, to help her prove her innocence.
Radha thinks that Julia lost her life because she found out something that would compromise the secret society. Radha cannot rely on the legal system or police to help her; Skull and Key is a powerful organization, not only on campus, but in the highest places across the country. She wants Eli to uncover the truth by going undercover at the school.
Eli agrees to help and takes on the persona of the pedigreed Brit, Jacob Darlow, our new transfer student. As he infiltrates his way into the inner circles, he’s poised and ready to expose whoever is responsible for the death of his sister.
