Ellen Page and Diego Luna are set to star in the remake of the 1990 sci-fi film.
Nina Dobrev is joining Ellen Page and Diego Luna in Sony’s Flatliners remake.

Neils Arden Oplev, who helmed the Swedish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, will direct the sci-fi drama that is based on the original 1990 film, which starred Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon as a group of medical students who conduct near-death experiments to travel into the afterworld.

Dobrev will be playing Marlo, an overachiever who is at the top of her class.

Ben Ripley wrote the film, which is being produced by Michael Douglas and Laurence Mark.

The Vampire Diaries alum’s film credits include Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Final Girls. She currently is filming Vin Diesel’s xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.

Dobrev is repped by CAA, Lighthouse and Hansen Jacobson.
